Our students enjoy the flexibility of being able to work online at times to suit them - as tutors we are not able to estimate when those times may be as they are dependent on individuals. I found the online course layout very difficult to navigate & consequently lost a lot of time scrolling back and forth trying to locate things . I was unaware when I booked through the Beauty Guild that the course was run by a third party that was aimed at all professions and the expected levels were far more academic than I expected. Big shock to the system having left school in 1986 with a handful of O’levels and having very limited IT experience. I would not recommend online learning in this instance, as a creative I feel an interactive classroom environment would have better suited me. I enjoyed the practical micro teach though. I was apprehensive about studying this course online but those concerns soon faded once I had started the course. I had some changes in my personal situation which meant that I started and had a gap before being able to finish the course. The nature of studying online through MKLC was just perfect in this respect in that you can study around other commitments with no time pressures. The commitment from the tutors to mark the work quickly and to provide constructive, motivational feedback gave me the motivation to complete the course.
